On June 30, 2023, Boris Levin, aged 74, passed away, he was the President of the Association of Transport Universities, President of the Russian University of Transport, a scientist with a worldwide reputation, Honored Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor and a wonderful person. For almost 20 years, since the creation of the global Golden Chariot Award, he had been one of the main experts of the project, the permanent leader and its ideological inspirer.

Boris Levin was born on August 11, 1949 in the family of a veteran aircraft mechanic, an electric train driver. Since childhood, he had been dreaming of becoming, like his father, a machinist. And his dream came true. Boris Levin's whole life was inextricably linked not only with railways, but also with science. He was rightly considered one of the authorities of the international scientific school, and the professor's works are widely known in many countries.
Levin was the author of more than 530 scientific works. He trained 21 candidates and 12 doctors of sciences, under his leadership a number of major projects of personnel and scientific support for the implementation of strategic documents for the development of transport and transport construction of the country were launched, mechanisms for the integration of existing and the introduction of new transport specialties were developed, certification of personnel of transport industries was carried out.
Boris Levin was awarded numerous Soviet, Russian and foreign orders and medals for his achievements in the field of science and transport, and he was awarded the state Prize twice.
